Federal government compact
This page provides information about the University’s first full ‘mission-based compact’ funding agreement with the federal government covering the period from 2011 to the end of 2013.
The compact provides a strategic framework for the relationship between the federal government and the University and defines the University's mission. It explains how initiatives in the University's current strategic plan align with the government's goals for higher education, research, research training and innovation.
Each Australian university has negotiated such a compact with the government. Together these compacts facilitate the distribution of federal funding for teaching and research, as well as performance-based funding linked to government policy priorities for the higher education sector as a whole.
