Preparing to arrive
Congratulations on being offered a place at the University of Sydney. Now that you have accepted your offer, you need to organise an Australian student visa, and plan for your arrival in Australia. You can find more information about pre-arrival and pre-arrival preparations below:
Study Abroad and Exchange Students should plan to arrive in time for the 2014 March Semester Orientation. The tentative program will begin on Monday 24 February and conclude on Wednesday 26 February 2014. We strongly encourage you to attend the Study Abroad and Exchange Student Orientation to help you make the best possible adjustment to Sydney and to the University.
The Study Abroad and Exchange Student Orientation complements the University of Sydney Union's O'Week activities held from Wednesday 26 to Friday 28 February 2014.
The Study Abroad and Exchange Student Orientation Program on the main campus provides students with essential information about living and studying in Sydney.

Each semester, the Study Abroad and Exchange Unit coordinates the Buddy Club, a social mentoring program, designed to help you build social networks, engage with local students, adjust to life in Australia and make the most out of your semester abroad.
In the past we have organised Koala Breakfasts, bushwalking in the Royal National Park, trivia evenings, pub nights, yum cha, harbour cruises, fancy dress parties, concerts, sports events, fairs, dinner parties, barbeques, guided tours, shopping, and fundraising events.
You will receive your personal invitation to join the Buddy Club Facebook Group and start connecting with other students before you arrive in Australia.
