Payment of HECS or fees

If you are a Commonwealth-supported (HECS liable) student paying your student contribution amount upfront, or a domestic or international fee-payer, you will receive a statement for your HECS or fees with your Confirmation of Enrolment. Payment instructions, payment methods and the due date will be shown on this statement.

If you don’t pay by the due date, you place your enrolment at risk of cancellation and there is no automatic right of re-entry to the University. If you are having trouble paying your fees, please contact the HECS and Domestic Fees Office as soon as possible.

You must pay all required fees by the due date

Failure to pay an invoiced amount by the due date may result in the cancellation of your enrolment.

Should this occur, the following apply.

  • There will be no automatic right of re-entry; however, should re-entry be granted it will be subject to the payment of a $100 penalty in addition to all outstanding charges.
  • If you are an international student and hold a student visa, enrolment cancellation may result in visa cancellation.
  • You will be denied access to the Library and your academic record will be withheld. You will also be denied access to all other University facilities and will not be permitted to attend lectures, tutorials or sit exams.
  • Should you manage to sit a final examination – or achieve a final result
in a unit that is progressively assessed – while your enrolment is cancelled, that result will be disallowed. This situation will become permanent with respect to that result should payment not be forthcoming on or before the last day of teaching of that unit.

If you are having trouble paying your fees, please contact the HECS and Domestic Fees Office if you are a domestic student.
