ACMM hosts WUN-SPIN 2012 Worldwide Universities Network 4th International Conference on Spintronics

23–25 July 2012, University of Sydney

The Australian Centre for Microscopy & Microanalysis is proud to host this prestigious conference on behalf of Professor Yongbing Xu (York University) and the WUN Spintronics Consortium.

WUN-SPIN 2012 will feature an innovative program designed for the multi-disciplinary nature of spintronics; attractive to materials scientists, physicists, engineers and students alike. Professor Simon Ringer and Dr Rongkun Zheng of the University of Sydney warmly invite you to join us as we discuss recent developments in spintronics and associated technologies. We will explore further this rapidly growing field of research that has the ability to transform the future design of information technology devices.

ACMM hosts 52nd International Field Emission Symposium

The ACMM was delighted to serve the IFES International Steering Committee (ISC) and the field emission community by hosting the 52nd meeting of the society – the first ever to be held in Australia.

After nearly 52 years of the Electron Microscope Unit (EMU) as a name, it was with a great sense of occasion that we joined with friends and supporters to formally launch our centre’s new appellation, the Australian Centre for Microscopy & Microanalysis (ACMM). The honoured guests included Prof. Jill Trewhella, DVC-R of the University, Prof. Margaret Sheil, CEO of the ARC, Provost Prof. Stephen Garton, and many deans and heads of departments.
