Andrew graduated from his mechanical engineering degree at the University of Sydney in 2009 and went on to undertake a PhD at the Australian Centre for Microscopy and Microanalysis (ACMM) under the supervision of Prof. Simon Ringer. This research project was predominantly focused on the application and development of analytical techniques for atom probe tomography. He currently holds a postdoctoral research position at the ACMM.
Andrew is continuing to work with Prof. Simon Ringer on the development of sophisticated atom probe analysis techniques in an effort to further elucidate atomic structure-property relationships for important engineering and functional materials. Materials currently being analysed include steels, Ni-based superalloys and Si based semiconductors. Andrew is also currently working on a project analysing research and development opportunities for solar cladding nanotechnology.
