Research interests

Understanding, predicting and controlling material microstructure evolution and phase transformation for better material properties in service, with an emphasis on technologically important engineering metallic materials with important applications in energy, aerospace and automotive industries.

Application of experimental characterization and computer modelling to bring deep insight into fundamentals dominating microstructure evolution.

Recently, he develops strong research interest in addressing solute distribution in ultrafine grained materials processed by severe plastic deformation.
