Agribusiness
OVERVIEW
A specialisation in agribusiness is well suited for those of you interested in commodity markets, analysing agricultural supply chains and the marketing of agricultural products, or scrutinising the market structure and behaviour of agricultural companies. Throughout your studies you will develop skills in using methods of applied economics and business analysis to address important issues such as management of agribusiness, labelling and tracking of agricultural products and supply chains, competition and regulation in the agribusiness sector, or pricing of agricultural products.
PROGRAM EXPECTATIONS
In this course you will be given the opportunity to analysise agricultural and resource marketing systems and the complexities of global agribusiness systems, marketing margins, microeconomics, transportation, storage and risk analysis. You will, at the conclusion of your study, have a sound understanding of the economic principles and current international trade trends in agricultural and resource commodities.

MODE OF DELIVERY
This course offers the flexibility to suit the specialist field you undertake. Classes will mostly be conducted on the Camperdown campus and all classes are held during the week with no evening classes. Some methods of delivery and assessment may include: a project report, group presentation, practical or field work, lectures, a research project, examinations or literature review. Comprehensive reading will be required and all courses will be conducted by recognised experts in the field of chosen research.
PRIOR TO COMMENCEMENT
Many units are based on compulsory fieldwork carried out prior to the commencement of semester. All coursework students should be available to participate in fieldwork excursions two weeks prior to the commencement of semester.
