Agricultural Technologies
OVERVIEW
For those of you who have an awareness of adopting integrated approaches to crop protection along with crop improvement and how these combined with good agronomic practices will result profitable and sustainable production should focus your studies in agricultural technologies. You will develop your knowledge of integrated pest management to control weeds, insects and plant pathogens as well as the use of molecular markers, genetic engineering and the implementation of biotechnology in plant breeding. This is complimented by examining and applying the advances in agronomy which all underpin successful agricultural production systems.
PROGRAM EXPECTATIONS
The program will provide you with skills in data analysis and interpretation, problem identification and solving; and an understanding of the technical issues that challenge today’s agrarian community.

MODE OF DELIVERY
This course offers a flexible course structure to suit the specialisation undertaken. Classes may be held at one of or a combination of the following;Camperdown Campus, Australian Technology Park, Camden Campus. All classes are conducted on week days with no evening classes your Units of Study may comprise the following; a project report, group presentation, practical and field work, lectures , examinations or literature reviews. Extensive reading is an expectation of this course and all courses are conducted by recognised specialists in the field.
PRIOR TO COMMENCEMENT
Many units are based on compulsory fieldwork carried out prior to the commencement of semester. All coursework students should be available to participate in fieldwork excursions two weeks prior to the commencement of semester.
