During the evening Professor Ghossayn was proud to announce a three year partnership commitment by Payce Consolidated Limited's CEO, Mr Brian Boyd, which will enable the ALF to continue its increasingly popular Lecture Series.

We were also proud to introduce our Arts and Culture Award programme, sponsored in its inaugural year by the Ghossayn Group, which aims to encourage and promote young people of Lebanese heritage who display excellence in any of a range of arts and cultural pursuits.
During the evening the audience was treated to a programme of remarkable young performers:-
Angelo and Joya Nicolas on violins;
Jack Bettar on piano;
Elie Hachem and Charbel El Azzi on electric keyboard and oud;
Ronnie Ayoub on Arabic flute;
Dominic Azzi on violin;
and a speech by Mary-Claire Nassif.

Mr Jonar Nader took to the stage and captivated the audience with a special 30-minute talk entitled 'Stupidity under the microscope'. Jonar used 3D animation to take us on a journey to prove that stupidity is a very expensive problem in corporations, institutions, and society in general, providing a range of humorous and thought-provoking examples of how stupidity manifests itself at the hands of intelligent people. Everyone enjoyed the anecdotes and the fly-through animations and graphics, with one guest reporting "the silence in that room was deafening".
