You can make a one-off or ongoing gift, establish a bequest, or donate in honour of someone. Find out more about how you can show your support below.

Ways to show your support

Give by phone

To donate over the phone, call our gift hotline on +61 2 8627 8818. One of our staff will be happy to assist you to make your donation, and can also help you decide which area of the University you would like to support.

Give by mail

You can make a gift by sending a cheque, money order or your credit card details, along with your full name, phone number and address with the area you wish to support noted on the donation form to:

Advancement Services
Level 7, Jane Foss Russell Building G02
The University of Sydney
NSW 2006 Australia

Please ensure any cheques or money orders are made out to ‘The University of Sydney’. We also require that you indicate the area you would like your gift to support, either on a donation form or a written note. For more information, contact a member of our Development team.

Named giving

One of the many ways you can make a lasting gift is by creating a named gift. You can do this through a bequest, donation, a pledge paid in instalments or other assets. Individuals, families and organisations can also be recognised through gifts to a scholarship, academic chair or capital project.

By making a bequest to the University of Sydney, you have the opportunity to make an enduring contribution to the advancement of our teaching, research and learning. The gift will also honour you, your family or someone close to you, for generations to come.

A bequest may include gifts of:

  • the residuary of an estate
  • a percentage of an estate
  • a specific sum of money
  • a particular asset such as real estate, works of art, or shares.

Telephone program

The telephone program aims to highlight areas in need of support, re-engage alumni in the life of the University, and build our connection with the donor community. Current University of Sydney students are employed to make phone calls from campus Monday to Saturday during the day and evenings. Will you answer the call for support?

Memorial or celebration

A memorial donation is a fitting way to remember a significant person, while a commemorative gift allows you to honour the accomplishments of a family member, respected colleague or inspiring mentor.

Your memorial gifts may be directed to an existing or established fund within the faculty of your choice. Family and friends can also contribute to your chosen fund.

Giving an asset

An asset you’ve had for many years can also be a gift for generations to come. Many individuals choose to donate non-cash assets including:

  • art and collections
  • investments
  • real estate.
