Patrick Bateman

A world-class orator and recipient of many University prizes, including the Walter Reid Memorial Prize for Penultimate Law, Patrick Bateman (BEcSocSc (Hons) ’10 LLB ’12) has made a significant contribution to causes on and off the campus.

During his studies in Government and Law, Patrick held St Paul’s College’s most prestigious scholarships and awards, such as the Felix Arnott Residential Scholarship. He co-founded the University of Sydney Union’s Public Speaking Society, and as the USU Board Director from 2009 – 2010, brought the Union to a budget-neutral position and drove membership up by 30%.

In 2011, Patrick was named World Champion in the Phillip C Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition – the biggest and most prestigious mooting competition in the world. Patrick has volunteered at a juvenile detention centre in Cape Town, and is a devoted volunteer for Lifeline.
