Alumni Night at La Bodega

There was no better way to launch the 2008 alumni program in Malaysia than having a tapas and sangria night at La Bodega, Pavillion. This recent addition to the Pavillion was the perfect venue for members of Sydney University Graduates Malaysia Association (SUGMA) to gather and mingle amidst the bustling Kuala Lumpur crowd on a Friday evening.

Our beloved SUGMA couple, SUGMA president, Ken Lim (BSc(Arch) '91 BArch '94) and his wife, Elaine Yap (BSc '97 LLB '99) graciously hosted the event to connect  alumni with each other and the University. There are many professional success stories among the alumni community in Malaysia and as a result all attendees decided to meet more often for social and professional networking purposes. These events are a great opportunity for like-minded alumni to keep abreast of business, political and social issues.

As the night drew to an end, alumni were keen to meet soon for activities such as golf tournaments and karaoke nights. With the number of Malaysian alumni growing rapidly, our next step is to gain more visibility online, using the alumni website and Facebook.
