We hiked through a forest and across a waterfall in the Los Glaciares National Park in Argentine Patagonia to reach this majestic facade of blue ice that is the Perito Merino Glacier. Standing here, we were welcomed by the sounds of ice cracking as iceblocks would break away and send thundery crashes into the water below. We were privileged to hike this glacier and discover its deep blue crevices and surprises, including a hidden lagoon. Perito Moreno glacier shifts about 2 m a day and what one finds one year may not be there the next.
