I traveled to Fort William in the Highlands of Scotland. Despite the miserable weather and my declining mood, I decided to take a detour up to Cow Hill Summit which, on a fine day, has good views of the mountains, glens and sea lochs around Fort William. It was raining steadily but as I got higher, the rain turned to snow. Halfway up I stumbled across a small herd of about six highland cattle. They are such good-looking beasts with their long shaggy hair. The cheeky cow in this photo had its tongue out as I walked past. It made me smile and raised my spirits!
