I had heard that the sun setting over the Tahai archaeological complex on Easter Island was a particularly beautiful scene and that I should endeavour not to miss it. On a number of evenings throughout my stay, I sat and waited patiently for the sun to set, and on each occasion, to my disappointment, the weather turned cloudy. On my final night I decided to give it one last chance even though the clouds had already begun to build up. My patience was rewarded - it was indeed a beautiful sunset and a perfect way to end my trip to this interesting remote island!
