Pigeon Valley in Cappadocia, Turkey, has numerous nesting places cut into the rock by the locals to encourage pigeons to roost. Their dropping are collected and used as fertiliser, as they have done for centuries. I travelled through Turkey for a month, and walking through the alien environment of Pigeon Valley was the most incredible thing I did.
