Tombs of the Kings
Dr Craig Barker, October 2011
The Tombs of the Kings cemetery in Paphos, Cyprus is very close to where the University's archaeological excavations in Cyprus are located. Despite their name, they aren't royal tombs, but rather demonstrate architectural influence from Alexandria in Egypt in the Hellenistic period (c. 200BC) with these unique peristyle tombs. Although I have been there several times, I have never seen it with such an amazing glow from the sunlight as this day.
