Changing the details of your candidature

You can request the following changes to your candidature online through
Sydney Student:

- Suspension, Leave of Absence or Time Away
- Change Mode of Attendance
- Change of Primary or Auxiliary Supervisor
- Change Thesis Title or Abstract
- Extension of Candidature
- Course Transfer
- Thesis submission

Research Funding Available to Students:

HDR Support Scheme

The Faculty also has a funding scheme similar to PRSS called the HDR Support Scheme, which is open for application until 27 October each year. Students should apply for PRSS funding in the first instance where possible.

Please read the attached policy and guidelines carefully before applying. If you have any questions on HDRSS contact in the SAC office.

Please also make sure you complete the HERDC pro-forma, and provide all necessary supporting documents, if your application relates to presenting at a conference. Funding preference will be given to students presenting at conferences that are HERDC eligible.

Student Journal Publication Prize

A prize of $500 (on application) is given to currently enrolled research students who are the first author of a journal article (ISI, Ulrich or HERDC-listed) or HERDC-eligible book chapter.

A prize of $1000 (on application) is given to currently enrolled research students who are the first author of a HERDC-eligible monograph (this does not apply to 'editor').

HDR Forum and Research Visions

HDR students are invited to participate in a monthly forum to discuss important issues relating to their studies. HDR students are also invited to participate in the annual Research Visions event, which showcases the Faculty’s student research output.
