Biographical details

Dr Caitilin de Bérigny is a Senior Lecturer and Researcher at the University of Sydney. She is a member of the Design Lab, an interdisciplinary research group within the Faculty of Architecture, Design and Planning.

Caitilin is leader of the Health and Creativity Node at the Charles Perkins Centre and is passionate about producing research that provides innovative design solutions to foster health and wellbeing.

She is an active member of the Sydney Environment Institute (SEI). SEI has professors with global reputations in their respective fields working with early and mid­career scholars ­all dedicated to building an interdisciplinary, and innovative Sydney Network on Climate Change and Society.

Caitilin has been awarded numerous grants, including an ARC Discovery grant ($436,504) (2016-2018), in collaboration with Professor Iain McCalman (Director SEI), the National Museum of Australian, and the American Museum of Natural History in New York.

Caitilin won the Vice-Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching and currently teaches Digital Media Production, Visual Communication and Interactive Product Design, she supervisors many PhD students.

Her artworks have been exhibited internationally in Germany at KZM Center for Art and Media; in France at the ENSBA in Paris and Marseille; in the USA at the Commencement Gallery; in Canada at McGill; in Australia at the National Gallery of Australia and in Berlin at the Wekstad.

Caitilin was awarded scholarships to undertake a postgraduate study at the L'École des Beaux-Arts in Marseille, France and an international exchange program at the L'Écoles Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris, France. She has studied, lived and worked internationally in France and the USA.
