Celebrating alumni achievement

Adjunct Professor and alumni member Rachel Neeson wins prestigious Robin Boyd award for Residential Architecture

Please join us in congratulating alumni member Rachel Neeson BSc (Arch) (1990) and BArch (1994) on this award.

Neeson Murcutt's Castlecrag House won the 2011 Robin Boyd award for Residential Architecture. The National Awards of the Australian Institute of Architects were announced last night in Hobart.

Rachel presented the project to an enthusiastic audience of staff, students and architects on October the 11th in her lecture 'Identifying Opportunities Within Every Constraint' and we are not at all surprised that it took out Australia’s highest accolade for residential architecture.

It is the second time that Neeson Murcutt have been contenders in the residential category at the National Awards. In 2009 the practice received National Awards for the Whale Beach House, Sydney and for Zac’'s House at Sorrento in Victoria.

Appointed Adjunct Professor at the Faculty of Architecture, Design and Planning in 2011, Rachel Neeson graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Science (Architecture) in 1990 and a Bachelor of Architecture in 1994.
