Architectural Science Review (ASR)

From its inception, Architectural Science Review has used an international panel of advisers to add to the breadth of editorial input, in both geographical and disciplinary terms. The present Editorial Advisory Board is drawn from academic institutions, research establishments and professional practitioners each with expertise in the areas covered by the publication. The Editorial Advisory Board also form the first port of call for the Editor to select referees for submitted papers. From time to time referee reports are sought from experts not on the Advisory Board, and those used during the preceding year are also listed toward the foot of this page.
Editor in Chief
Professor Richard Hyde took over the editorship in 2009. He is a registered architect, teacher, author and researcher in the field of sustainable architectural design and research for buildings. He has a national and international reputation in the area of environmental design, and is currently Head of the Architectural and Design Science discipline and Coordinator of the Sustainable Design program at The University of Sydney, with previous experience in the UK and USA.

Former Editors in Chief
Architectural Science Review was founded in 1958 by the then Professor of Architectural Science, Henry J (Jack) Cowan. He continued as Editor until shortly before his passing in 2007. During that time he produced over 4500 Book Reviews, most of which he wrote himself. Professor Gary Moore took over as Editor in Chief in 2006.
Associate Editors
While Professor Cowan drew informally on the assistance of one Assistant Editor and a number of colleagues, Professor Moore established a group of four Associate Editors, each with a range of specialties related to their expertise, to advise on the wide range of papers submitted. Professor Hyde has expanded the number of Associate Editors to further widen that range.
