Trevor Howells
My research is directed at a range of areas which include:
- architectural history , both Australian and international;
- conservation practice and theory;
- conservation of materials;
- conservation documentation methodologies; and
- design of new buildings in historic contexts
Current projects include:
- Publication of The University of Sydney Architecture, an architectural guide book published in 2007 for The Watermark Press;
- Research on the life and work of Professor Leslie Wilkinson in conjunction with Dr Julia Horne, University Historian (to be published as a monograph);
- Research for an architectural guide book to Rome with Dr Flavia Marcello
(to be published as a guide book); - Preparation of Conservation Management Plans of selected buildings on Cockatoo Island for the Sydney Harbour Federation Trust under the auspices of the postgraduate course Conservation Methods & Practices
- Preparation of an historic Photographic Record of the Anderson Stuart Building for The University of Sydney Campus Properties & Services under the auspices of the postgraduate course Heritage Documentation Methods
