Emeritus Professor Gary T Moore

In recognition of his distinguished interdisciplinary contributions to research and teaching, Professor Moore has been the recipient of many awards and fellowships including Woodrow Wilson and Canada Council Fellowships, two Graham Foundation Fellowships, three Progressive Architecture Design Research Awards, the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Foundation Research Award, State of Wisconsin Citation for Research, the AIA/ACSA Award for Research and the EDRA Service Award.

He is a member of the Royal Australian Institute of Architects (RAIA) and the Planning Institute of Australia (PIA), co-founder and member of the Environmental Design Research Association (EDRA) and of People and the Physical Environment in Australasia (PaPER), and a member of the International Association for People-Environment Studies (IAPS) and Man-Environment Relations Association of Japan (MERA). He has served on the Boards of Directors of EDRA, PaPER and IAPS, served as Co-Chair of the initial EDRA Steering Committee and Chair of the EDRA Board of Directors.

In 1988, Professor Moore was made a fellow of the American Psychological Association (APA) for his contributions to the multidisciplinary field of environment-behaviour studies. In 2007, in recognition of his contributions to research and teaching internationally and at Sydney and in recognition of his successful deanship at Sydney, he was appointed Emeritus Professor.
