Description
An introduction to the art, archaeology, religion, landscape and settlement patterns of the principal cultures inhabiting the Iranian plateau and adjacent regions, with special emphasis on the culture of the Elamites, Persians, Parthians and Sasanians from prehistoric times to the 6th century AD.
Assessments
1x2500 word research paper (40%), 1x2000 word take-home exam (30%), 1x1000 word course journal (20%), quizzes on reading assignments (10%)
Classes
1x1 hour lecture and 1x1 hour tutorial per week
Prerequisites
12 junior credit points of Archaeology or 6 junior credit points of Archaeology plus 6 junior credit points of Ancient History or Classical Studies
