• To elucidate the traditional cultural and religious life of the Cambodian people through their visual arts, particularly handwoven pictorial silk textile in the 19th century, together with an examination of their motifs and their meanings which indicate a syncretism of Buddhism and animism that still plays out in the lives of all Cambodians
