Katie Yuill is Assistant Curator, University Art Gallery and Art Collections. She commenced work at the University of Sydney in 2003 soon after enrolling in Master of Arts (Modern Art and Curatorship). Prior to this Yuill worked at Sherman Galleries, Sydney, first as Gallery Assistant (1995-1996), then as Exhibitions Coordinator (1996-2001), then as Manager, Acquisitions (2002). Prior to this, Yuill was a social worker in Sydney and London.

Research Interests

  • Australian modern art, particularly early Sydney modernist art and Sydney post WWII social/ political art.
  • Yuill is currently researching poster art production at the University of Sydney Art Workshop (known as the Tin Sheds), particularly by women artists. This research will lead to a poster art exhibition at the University Art Gallery to coincide with the Fortieth Anniversary of International Women's Year
