Description
Continuation of Chinese 1C, with similar objectives, pace and workload. By the end of the year, students should be able to read Chinese-language materials of limited complexity, and to discuss them in Putonghua.
Assessments
classwork (10%), oral presentations (20%), vocabulary quizzes (20%), composition tests and exercises (20%), major reading/writing tests (2x15%)

HSC Chinese for Background Speakers, eligibility for higher-level classes
Assumed Knowledge
Native- or near-native fluency in a spoken Chinese language (e.g., putonghua, Cantonese) combined with full mastery (reading and writing) of about 400 to 500 characters and at least basic communicative skills in Putonghua
