Lene HansenPlease join Dr Lene Hansen (Professor of International Relations, University of Copenhagen) as she delivers the 2014 Michael Hintze Lecture. Dr Hansen is Denmark's first female professor of international politics and recent recipient of Denmark's Elite Researcher Award. Her interests centre on the history of security studies and international relations theory, with a particular emphasis on critical, poststructuralist and feminist approaches. For the next four years she is directing the research project, Images and International Security, funded by the Danish Council for Independent Research. She has written on a series of events and cases, including cyber-security, the Danish Muhammad Cartoon Crisis, and the Bosnian War. She is the author of Security as Practice: Discourse Analysis and the Bosnian War and the co-author with Barry Buzan of The Evolution of International Security Studies.

The Michael Hintze Chair in International Relations was established in 2008 following a generous donation from a distinguished University of Sydney graduate.
