BACKGROUND
Adam began his career as a Registered Nurse in Brisbane, Australia, where he specialized in emergency care before serving as the clinical risk management coordinator for seven public and private hospitals. In 2003, Adam relocated to the United Kingdom where he completed his PhD in International Politics at the Centre for Health and International Relations, in the Department of International Politics, Aberystwyth University.
Adam returned to Australia in 2007 where he worked as a legislative and political adviser to an Australian Senator before taking up a position in the Australian Public Service where he worked in the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet as part of a small team tasked with revising and testing Australia’s pandemic preparedness plans. In 2009 Adam joined the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, where he continues to hold the post as Honorary Lecturer. He is a regular contributor and the Asia correspondent for the Health Diplomacy Monitor, which publishes details on upcoming meetings and diplomatic events that have a bearing on global health issues. Adam commenced with the Centre for International Security Studies in November 2011.
