Bachelor of Political, Economic and Social Sciences

The Bachelor of Political, Economic and Social Sciences, offered for the first time in 2010, is a flexible degree with a focus on the study of political, economic and social issues. The program combines in-depth analysis with a broad multi-disciplinary approach to important contemporary political, economic and social problems and policies.
Students who commenced their degree prior to 2011 should refer to the resolutions as per the Faculty Handbook from their year of commencement.
Students who commenced the Bachelor of Economic and Social Sciences in 2008 or 2009 should consult the information on that degree available here.

Requirements
- 144 credit points in total including
- A maximum of 60 junior credit points
- A minimum of 84 senior credit points in total
- A core major in one of the following subject areas: Anthropology / Government and International Relations / Political Economy / Sociology
- A minimum of 12 senior credit points from each of Government and International Relations, Political Economy and either Anthropology or Sociology (these units of study must be taken from two subject areas that are different from the core major)
- A maximum of 24 junior credit points (and a maximum of 12 junior credit points in a single subject area) from Table B, included in a maximum of 48 credit points in total from Table B.

If you intend to undertake a second elective major in your degree you must plan accordingly from your first semester of enrolment, ensuring that you are aware of the requirements for your intended elective major and that you are satisfying any necessary pre-requisites for that major in your first year.
