Korean Studies
Postgraduate Research 2012 Overview

With the rapid economic growth of South Korea and the strengthening of its economic, political and cultural relationships with other countries, Korean language education around the world has grown rapidly since the 1970s. There is an increasing demand for Korean language skills from non-native speakers, teachers and researchers who require formal training in Korean linguistics.

Korean Studies have been taught at the University of Sydney since 1991, and graduate numbers have grown dramatically since then.

Academic staff have expertise in Korean history, Korean language (modern and classical), Korean religions and thought, Korean society and culture and Korean linguistics.
