The School of Economics at the University of Sydney is an important training ground for Economists in the region. It is a leading supplier of graduates to both the private and public sectors. Our graduates go on to specialist positions in Treasury, the Reserve Bank, other policy departments across Commonwealth and State governments, international agencies, financial markets and financial institutions, to head office roles in the corporate world, and to key positions in the not-for-profit sector.

What you can study

The School of Economics offers a selection of postgraduate coursework degrees in Economics.

The Master of Economics teaches the skills to apply economic methods and knowledge to practical contemporary problems in business and government. No previous study of Economics is assumed.

We also offer a Graduate Diploma in Economics and a Graduate Certificate in Economics.

The Master of Economic Analysis is aimed at students with a strong mathematical background who wish to learn the most advanced skills in Economics. It prepares students for highly-skilled, research-focused economics jobs at institutions such as the Productivity Commission and the Reserve Bank of Australia, and for PhD programs in economics in Australia and overseas.

We also offer a Graduate Diploma in Economic Analysis and a Graduate Certificate in Economic Analysis.
