In this field he has an international reputation, serving on the editorial boards of every major journal. Recent publications include entries on Helen Dendy-Bosanquet, Clara Collett and Amy Hewes for a Biographical Dictionary of Women Economists (Elgar, 2000); Physicians and Political Economy. Six Studies of the Work of Doctor-Economists (Routledge, 2001) to which he contributed the introduction, the concluding chapter and chapters on Quesnay and Juglar; a review article on 'Exemplary Economists of the Twentieth Century', History of Economics Review No. 32 (Summer 2000); and an essay on Marshall's evolutionary economics in a book on Darwinism and Evolutionary Economics (Elgar 2001).
