Biographical details

Chandana Maitra completed her BA (Econ Hons) at Jadavpur University (Kolkata, India), and her MA and MPhil at Jawaharlal Nehru University (New Delhi, India), PhD (Economics) from the University of Queensland (Brisbane). Chandana's main areas of research are applied development economics, health economics and microeconometrics. Chandana's research has focused on measuring food insecurity and exploring the interlinkages between food security, poverty and other indicators of wellbeing such as health status. She has also worked as external consultant to UNICEF/FAO collaborative project on the scope of applying experiential scales in measuring food security in India. Her work has been published in journals such as World Development and Journal of Agricultural Economics.
