Kate Lilley’s Ladylike Shortlisted for Major Literary Prize

17 April, 2013

Kate Lilley's second volume of poetry, Ladylike, has been shortlisted for the Kenneth Slessor Prize for Poetry in the 2013 NSW Premier's Literary Awards

Like Versary, Kate’s first volume of poetry, Ladylike has been very positively reviewed since its publication in 2012. Reviewing the book in the Sydney Morning Herald, Gig Ryan wrote: “Lilley's poems are always concise with wit and meaning, and the same bold, singed humour remains with endless thought clutching each taut line.”

The Kenneth Slessor Prize for Poetry is worth $30,000 and Kate's book is in competition with five other titles. The winners for the 2013 NSW Premier's Literary Awards will be announced at the State Library of NSW on Sunday 19 May.
