Film Studies at the University of Sydney
Film Studies at Sydney is a vibrant interdisciplinary program of study taught by a network of film scholars with wide-ranging disciplinary expertise. Encountering cinema as an intermedial phenomenon that draws on photographic, art historical, literary and post-cinematic new media traditions, students develop a deep critical literacy in the moving-image cultures in which we live.
The program draws on a range of exciting film courses offered across the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences in a wide range of departments, including Art History, English, History, Italian, German, Media and Communications and Music. The student experience is rich in terms of exposure to curated suites of films that are diverse in terms of genre, style and national origin.
