Biographical details

I have been working at the University of Sydney for over a decade and I have been the Chair of Department for three years. As a film specialist I have designed the film trend of the Department of French Studies, developed a new course on Stars in Word cinema in the international and Comparative Literary Studies program in SLC and I contribute to the European Studies Program.

My research has focused on the work of 20th century writer and filmmaker Marguerite Duras and on French and World Cinema. I have published extensively in French and English on Marguerite Duras’cinema, using postcolonial and gender theories, on socio-political cinema and on stars studies. I am currently working on two research projects: on tactility and sensoriality in the films of Marguerite Duras and on senescence in World Cinema.
