Kleist, Machiavelli, Rousseau: statecraft versus republican liberty

Ritchie Robertson is the Taylor Professor of German at the University of Oxford and a Fellow of Queen's College. His research covers a wide range of authors and topics in German Literature from the Enlightenment to the present. He published widely on Franz Kafka, Heinrich Heine, Austrian literature and the Enlightenment as an international movement.
