Richard Frank’s research centers on the domestic effects of international politics, the causes of electoral violence and civil conflict, and human trafficking. His work has appeared in the Journal of Peace Research, Conflict Management and Peace Science, and International Interactions.
Frank is a research associate and the project manager of the Electoral Integrity Project. Before joining the department, he was an Assistant Professor of Political Science at the University of New Orleans. Frank received his PhD. from Binghamton University in 2009. He has taught graduate and undergraduate courses on civil and international conflict, foreign policy, international relations, international organizations, the politics of development, and political methodology. Frank helped to develop the new dataset on political institutions and elections, with Patrick Regan and David Clark, and he recently was a primary investigator on two new human trafficking datasets, one of which with Beth Simmons.
