GSG Executive Officer, Leanne Howie and Professor Robert Cumming, Sydney School of Public Health, attended the Mining and Agriculture Symposium: From Resource Curse to Development Driver for Australian Alumni in Kampala where they discussed the outcomes to date of their research ‘The impact of scholarships on strengthening the health systems in Africa: an assessment of selection models’.

A delegation of Ugandan Officials, including the Minister of Energy and Mineral Development visited the GSG to discuss political and organizational strategies associated with the development of an oil and gas industry in Uganda. The program was sponsored by AusAID.

Professor Gallop visited Mozambique, Malawi, Ghana and South Africa interviewing alumni, public sector officials and Australian AusAID staff about the effectiveness of the GSG/Sydney Law School Extractive Industries programs.
