POSTGRADUATE AWARD COURSE (UPGRADE OR EXIT) TRANSFERS

The Graduate Certificate in Public Administration (GCPA), the Graduate Diploma in Public Administration (GDPA) and the Master of Public Administration (MPA) form an embedded sequence of postgraduate award courses in public administration offered through the Graduate School of Government.

Award courses in an embedded sequence allow a student to transfer (upgrade) from one award course to a higher award course or if a student who discontinues their current study may be permitted to exit with a lower award course.

Course Transfer - Upgrades

Upgrades are permitted provided that the admission requirements of the higher award course have been met.

Upgrades permitted within the public administration embedded sequence are:

  • Graduate Certificate in Public Administration (GCPA) to the Graduate Diploma in Public Administration (GDPA);
  • Graduate Certificate in Public Administration (GCPA) to the Master of Public Administration (MPA);
  • Graduate Diploma in Public Administration (GDPA) to the Master of Public Administration (MPA).

Students enrolled in either the GCPA, GDPA or MPA may not transfer to the Executive Master of Public Administration.

Students can submit an application to upgrade through Sydney Student.
