History Department Response to Student Feedback
HSTY1045 - Modern European History (2003)

Unit Coordinator: Dr Dirk Moses

Students were generally pleased with the unit, although they found
covering European history from 1750 to 1914 rather daunting. But it's a
survey unit, they realised. Student appreciated the enthusiasm and
commitment of the staff, and the fact that tutors also gave lectures.
Widely divergent opinions were articulated about the textbook, which
indicates to me that it was a lively source of tutorial discussion. The
lecture of Dr McCreery were given via PowerPoint, which met with
widespread approval. I will endeavour to convert my lectures to this
format for 2004.
