HSTY2024 - The World Turned Upside Down (2004)

‘The World Turned Upside Down’ collected its usual praise, with a few comments indicating that students shared fully the lecturers’ enthusiasm for the very special historical experience that this unit can provide. Nice things were said about the teaching here, too, although my decision to abandon in future two unusually congested lectures on ‘What happened in the fifth century’ was confirmed by a couple of comments.

The need to be careful to give background for students from different historical backgrounds was apparent and will be acted on the next time the unit is taught.
