Of the 174 students enrolled in this course, 44% completed the evaluation. Of these, 90% were satisfied with the quality of the course and its content, while 85% found the course to encourage their thinking and help them find different approaches to the subject matter.
78% of students found that quality of teaching in this subject to be of a high standard, agreeing that it helped them to learn effectively, with a further 83% stating that they found staff response to student needs to be both rapid and constructive. Students mentioned the enthusiasm of the lecturer and the attentiveness of the tutors. A great many students indicated that they had not before done any Spanish history and that this course had opened heir eyes to the richness of the Hispanic past, especially of twentieth century Spain.
Only 22% of students complained that the workload was too high, with the vast majority finding the course manageable and very enjoyable.
