History Department Response to Student Feedback
HSTY3095 - The Celtic World Revisited (2005)
Unit Coordinator: Dr Lynette Olson
While I had wondered if this seminar was as good as its first-semester counterpart, the evaluations were even more favourable. The mean score for overall satisfaction was 4.58 out of 5. All but one of the respondents strongly agreed with the statement, “In this Unit I felt part of a group of students and staff committed to learning’ and the other student agreed with it. The usual nice things were said about staff approachability and responsiveness to student feedback (‘Lyn Olson’s door is always open!’). The problem of end-of-semester assessment, still not remedied, made even less difference to the evaluation; however, I will seek student suggestions next year about the best way to overcome it.
