Summer Scholarships at the Museum of Australian Democracy
17 September, 2012
The Australian Prime Ministers Centre offers up to three Summer Scholarships each year to tertiary students. Summer Scholarships enable students to research the history, origins, traditions and contemporary practice of Australian democracy, with reference to Australian prime ministers.
Scholars can elect to undertake a research project which contributes to the public history program at the Museum of Australian Democracy at Old Parliament House or they may propose an independent research topic. Public history projects may include exhibition research, education program development or preparation of a research guide. Independent research projects may contribute to a student’s ongoing research interests.
Students from a range of disciplines including social and political history, political science, museum studies, librarianship, education and the performing arts are welcome to apply. Applicants should be in their final Honours year or undertaking post-graduate studies. Successful applicants will spend 6 weeks in Canberra during January and February. Travel, accommodation and an allowance will be provided.
APPLICATIONS FOR 2013 SUMMER SCHOLARSHIPS CLOSE ON 30 SEPTEMBER 2012.
