| Comment: | Kun-borrk is a song style from Western Arnhem Land. Various kun-borrk groups from Beswick and elsewhere have visited the Wadeye region for ceremonial exchange. The most famous kun-borrk songset is the Bongolinj-bongolinj set composed by Djorli Laiwanga (d. 1990s), which has been recorded on several occasions in the Wadeye area. At Wadeye kun-borrk is known as 'lirrga'. Photo: kunborrk dancers at Wadeye, 1990. Photo: still from WAVA video 192, Mark Crocombe. |
