| Comment: | Manikay is a genre of didjeridu-accompanied clan-songs performed by Central or north-eastern Arnhem Land groups. The didjeridu style is different from that used in the Western Arnhem Land or Daly regions, and is characterised by use of the overblown hoot. There are several recordings of manikay from Central Arnhem Land being performed at Wadeye as part of ceremonial exchange. Photo: Courtesy of Aaron Corn |
