ku tek (red-tailed black cockatoo)

Image: Kutek
Also known as: red-tailed black cockatoo, Calyptorhynchus banksii

Ku tek is one of the totems of the Dimirnin clan. The bird has yellow dots on the face, similar to the ceremonial painting used for Djanba performances. Djanba dancers usually wear a red loincloth, which is said to reference the red tail of this bird.
