What are Medieval Studies?
This interdisciplinary programme of study enables interested students to pursue various aspects of medieval civilisation. It is offered at Senior Level only and students are admitted who have successfully completed Units of Study to the value of at least 18 Junior credit points in any two subject areas from the Faculty of Arts units (Table A) – see the Arts and Social Sciences (Undergraduate) Handbook.
Subject to availability from year to year, Medieval Studies students can take Units in Arabic and Islamic Studies, Art History and Film Studies, English, French Studies, Hebrew, Biblical and Jewish Studies, History, Italian Studies, Classics and Ancient History, Modern Greek Studies, Music Studies, Philosophy, and Studies in Religion.
Students intending to major in Medieval Studies are strongly advised to consult the Co-Ordinator before enrolling. They are advised to take Medieval Studies Units of Study worth at least 12 credit points.
